Singing and drama lessons for kids and teens
One-to-one singing, drama and musical theatre lessons in Pascoe Vale — for confident kids, shy kids, and the ones who sing constantly at home and freeze in front of anyone else.
For parents
Young voices need careful handling. A child’s voice, and especially a teenager’s, is physically changing. Pushed the wrong way — too loud, too high, too much belting too early — real damage is possible. Classical training exists precisely to prevent that: it builds a voice that can grow safely and still be there in twenty years.
One-to-one suits some children far better than a class. Group drama and choir are wonderful for confident kids. For a quieter child, being the shy one in a group of twelve can confirm exactly the thing you were hoping to fix. Private lessons remove the audience entirely.
Confidence is often the real reason. A good share of parents book singing or drama lessons and aren’t especially interested in singing or drama. They want a child who’ll speak up, who can stand in front of a class without dread. That’s a reasonable thing to want, and it’s one of the things this work is genuinely good at.
“My son (10) was hesitant but always had a passion for singing… Phoebe was just amazing, she was able to ease his anxiety straight away and he learnt great techniques even in the trial lesson.”

“My daughter is really enjoying her classes with Phoebe — she gets to personalise her class, choosing which pieces she wants to sing and what she wants to work on, singing or acting.”

By age
- Under 6. Short 30-minute lessons, play-based, mostly about pitch, rhythm, listening and enjoying making sound. No expectations beyond that.
- 6 to 11. Proper technique introduced gently, alongside songs they’ve chosen. School production preparation, and often a first eisteddfod or exam. Thirty minutes suits most; some manage 45.
- 12 to 15. The voice is changing, particularly for boys, and this is where careful teaching matters most. Repertoire that suits the voice they have right now, and reassurance that the awkwardness is temporary and normal.
- 16 to 18. More serious work for students who want it — VCE performance subjects, tertiary audition preparation, building an audition book. Also perfectly fine for students who just want to keep singing while everything else gets stressful.
What they can work on

Plenty of students split a lesson between singing and acting, or switch focus depending on what’s coming up at school.
